One of the main reasons we started Evident was to explore opportunities to connect buildings to cloud computing platforms. This originated from successful prototypes during the Zero Energy House project, where we streamed data from the house to the project website via a cloud platform. Another platform was used to serve charts displaying historical data from the house.
Two years on, and we're in the middle of another series of prototypes. At the end of 2015 we were accepted into the IBM Global Entrepreneur Program for Cloud Startups, and since then have successfully developed trial end-to-end solutions that move data from buildings into the IBM Bluemix platform where it is processed and stored, before being served to apps and websites.
We're also trialling cloud platforms from Google and Amazon, and learning a lot in the process. It's a rapidly evolving space with many moving parts, but it's been exciting to see some of the solutions come to life in recent months.
Once these are a little more polished, we'll be sharing them on a section of the website that shows work-in-progress. We're also really keen to connect with people who are exploring similar opportunities and may want to share lessons learned or collaborate on projects. If that sounds like you - or you're interested in hearing when we share our prototypes - get in touch...
