Charge Smart – Charging EVs with Solar

Over the last six months we’ve been piloting an approach that integrates EV charging with solar. This guarantees a renewable source of energy is used to charge the car, and has financial benefits for both the EV and solar system.

Pure Advantage last week published a piece by us on this pilot project, which has been a collaboration with RDT Pacific. The article goes beyond the pilot project to consider the impact on New Zealand's energy future when a million or more EVs are on the road. If we want to maximise the potential of this exciting new technology to reduce our emissions, we need to start planning for where the energy will come from to charge them.

Check out the article here: Charge Smart – Charging EVs with Solar. We'd be really keen to hear your feedback.
